I generally like radio journalism and I've been into podcasts for a couple of years now. I also find them helpful in maintaining my language skills in languages I'm already fairly proficient in. So I thought I would put together a list of podcasts I like in different languages, maybe kick off a discussion and hopefully get interesting recommendations from you guys.

To clarify: I won't list podcasts that are meant to teach you a particular language, but interesting (to me) podcasts made for a “normal” audience.

English (There is a huge selection of podcasts in English and many of them are of great quality)

Kermode & Mayos Film Review – for people who enjoy film criticism and rambling Englishmen (2h)

This American Life – Beautifully crafted reportages on a different topic every week (1h)

Story Corps – Short interviews with Americans from all walks of life – often very touching oral history. There are transcripts of the Interviews available on the Story Corps website (15min)

Radio Lab – The editing on this one is a bit nuts, but they cover really interesting scientific subjects (30min to 1h)

More Perfect – Fascinating reportages on landmark Supreme Court cases (45min)

French

Les pieds sur terre – Short reportages about life in France covering a wide variety of topics (30m)

Spanish

Radio Ambulante – Reportages about people's lives in Central and South America (20-30m)

Italian

Suggestions needed! I haven't found an ideal podcast yet. Ideally it should be issued weekly with a duration of 20min up to an hour.

I like the “poesie ermetiche”-segment on the Cordialmente podcast, but it's only 3min long...

so...

Do you have any recommendations in Italian?

Do you listen to podcasts? Which ones do you like?

I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts!

Olivia

PS - Please do correct any mistakes I made – thank you.
