I work in an online English tutoring company and I have been helping many clients with their English learning for more than 3 years, but there is a special client who impresses me the most.

Two years ago I helped a 16-year-old boy to start learning English. He lived in the countryside in Taiwan and it took him 2 hours to school every day. Due to the time he spends on commute and the financial hardship in his family, he has no extra time and money to a cram school, literally a supplementary learning class, to improve his English; however, he knows that a good English ability is essential for him to go to a better college, and a good English speaking skill enables him to have more job opportunity in the future. What matter the most is, since his parents are farmers and they want him to become a farmer after he graduates, he knows that only education can bring change.

Unfortunately, his parents can’t afford the tuition of our service and refuse to support him I told him not to worry about money, as long as you have the determination to make a difference, although you are not able to start learning here, there are still many methods we can try together. What we have to do is not to waste the time and keep moving on. Since then I started to call him twice a week to practice English speaking, I gave him lots of free English learning resources and taught him how to make good use of them. We had kept in touch for four months and I helped him with his English for no payment. I took his diligent in English as the best return for my help.

What surprised me was that after four months practicing, he told me that he had found a part time job and saved some money since his parents said they wouldn’t support him to learn English, and finally, now he can afford the tuition by himself and he really wants to start his English learning by using our product. What touched me the most isn’t only because he finally can afford the tuition of our product by himself, but he understands why he should cherish the opportunity to learn --- nothing comes easily, without his preservation, others’ kindness and his diligent, he can never have what he deserves now. From the experience of helping him, l learn a lesson as well.
